The meeting was called to order on January 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. The Honorable Dennis Hall conducted the swearing in of: Gilpin County Commissioner Linda Isenhart, County Treasurer Mary Lorenz, County Corner Zane Laubhan, County Clerk and Recorder Sharon (Sahari) McCormick, Gilpin County Sheriff Kevin Armstrong, County Assessor Anne Schaefer, and Deputy Clerk to the Board Sharon Cate.     Roy’s Last Shot Restaurant Customer Appreciation Day began at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 16th, in mid-Gilpin on Hwy 119. The parking lot was overflowing full, while inside festive cheer, merriment and thrilling wonder danced in the eyes of children while neighbors and friends were comfortably, enjoying sunny skies in nearly 50 degree weather for those out on the deck for a community Christmas Party. Roy, his wife Barb, and all the staff and volunteers made Christmas extra special for these mountain folks. (more…)

    Effective January 1, 2019 the Gilpin County 911 system will be replacing the previous Code Red notification system with Hyper-Reach. This important system allows Gilpin County 911 and emergency responders to contact citizens regarding emergency evacuations (Reverse 911), Gilpin County events, and other important notifications. It is recommended that all citizens living in Gilpin County, the City of Central, and the City of Black Hawk sign up for this important service. This new service goes into effect on January 1, 2019.
