Matthew Durkin announces candidacy

The Peak to Peak Players just wrapped another great performance with “Call Me Ned,” a musical farce featuring the ice man himself, Grandpa Bredo Morstol, which played three times during the 2019 Frozen Dead Guy Days festival at the Backdoor Theatre. The Players are comprised of life-long thespians and dramatic hobbyists alike which is reflected in the divergence of acting quality, but made up for in energy, enthusiasm, audience interaction, and a love of the craft. Black Hawk confirms Steve Cole as city manager
Brings education, leadership, and experience to the CityPRESS RELEASE – The City of Black Hawk has confirmed Stephen Cole as city manager. Cole served as acting city manager for the past four months. He has more than 40 years of public service and most recently served as Black Hawk’s police chief for 13 years. Cole is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Leadership Program, and holds a BA in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Wichita State (more…)

Gilpin County High School students are getting out of the classroom and into the c-store as they work at EaglesMart, the enterprise begun in 2016 that provides real business experience for school credit.
