National concerns regarding police brutality and lethal force will not be coming to Central City anytime soon. About 80 people turned out at the Gilpin Community Center last Saturday afternoon, October 1, for an election forum. The audience heard the qualifications and positions of the six candidates for the Board of County Commissioners. Top issues included transportation, medical services, whether or not to diversify apart from the gaming industry, and accessibility to county facilities and to the commissioners themselves. (more…)
