Former Mayor pro-tem Shirley Voorhies opened a work session with Staff on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 prior to the regular meeting for the swearing in of new council members in a standing-room only crowd. For Gilpin County residents and businesses
Effective January 1, 2019 the Gilpin County 911 system will be replacing the previous Code Red notification system with Hyper-Reach. This important system allows Gilpin County 911 and emergency responders to contact citizens regarding emergency evacuations (Reverse 911), Gilpin County events, and other important notifications. It is recommended that all citizens living in Gilpin County, the City of Central, and the City of Black Hawk sign up for this important service. This new service goes into effect on January 1, 2019. Police Chief Cole is Acting City Manager
PRESS RELEASE – The City of Black Hawk announces the retirement of Jack Lewis, effective Friday, November 2nd. Mr. Lewis served as city manager for seven years and helped Black Hawk in advancing its goal in becoming a top resort destination.
