Interact Club gets involved with Denver comunity

The Gilpin High School Interact Club took on the role of donation sorters at the Denver Rescue
Mission on Dec. 22.
The middle school and high school Interact Club members planned a supplies drive for the
Rescue Mission by distributing informational flyers around the building and setting up donation
bins. The club also offered its organizational skills.

The Denver Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization that offers emergency services, includ-
ing meals, overnight housing, and daytime services, as well as rehabilitation, transitional pro-
grams and community outreach.
The Interact Club worked for two hours sorting through large boxes of donations and breaking
down cardboard after receiving a tour of the Mission warehouse.
The Denver Rescue Mission offers a free “store” for unhoused people in the area, with clothes,
shoes, and food
available for the tak-
ing, beds for nightly
warmth and safety,
and jobs for those
seeking a new life.
