Through the gloom, vendors hastily set up booths, equestrians exercised their horses, shepherds watched over their sheep, and emergency personnel assembled. January 11, 1951 – June 22, 2021
Henry “Hank” Wilson Robinson III, formerly of Gilpin County Public Works, passed away June 22, 2021. Hank was born in Denver, Colorado January 11, 1951 to Henry and Lee (Drinkwine) Robinson. He served in the military in the early 1970’s before marrying Nancy (Spain) and moving to his family’s property in Gilpin County. Hank and Nancy had two children Henry Wilson Robinson IV (May 5, 1976 – July 31, 1994) and Erin Louise Robinson (Nov 7, 1978 – May 7, 2017). Hank’s children were the most (more…)

Concerns for Our Wildlife and Habitat

I first moved to Gilpin County in 1975, attending Clark Elementary School and living in Black Hawk. After college, I moved back to my hometown 21 years ago, and have embraced the natural habitat that we are able to enjoy in this beautiful community. As noted by many other Gilpin residents, I have been disturbed and angered by the change to our environment that has resulted from the modification of flight patterns initiated by the FAA’s Denver Metroplex plan.
