Gilpin GOP honors 16 th president

The annual luncheon, held in honor of the
16th President of the United States, is always
fun with an excellent opportunity to meet can-
didates for the various state and local offices.

A small but hearty group of nearly 50 great
American patriots braved the cold, snow, and
bad road and driving conditions to attend the

The event was moved to the indoor arena at
the fairgrounds this year. The arena proved to
be an outstanding venue.

It was wonderful to hear from each of the
candidates about their plans and optimism for
the region’s future.

Matt Solomon served as emcee for the day.
The Event Committee included Marilyn Ash-
more, Kathleen Balfour and
Jessica Kays. The lunch was
catered by Joe and Kara Tinuc-
ci and featured BBQ brisket
and pulled pork from their JKQ
Barbecue at Crook’s Palace.

involvement in the community and her desire
to serve as Commissioner.

County GOP Vice-Chair Rick Wenzel was working the
registration table.
